B. Braun’s injection containers obtain FDA approval

B. Braun Medical has received approval from the US Food and Drug Administartion (FDA) for its Sterile Water for Injection in 2l and 3l containers.

The new pharmacy bulk package products will be used, along with the Pinnacle TPN Management System and other automated compounding devices.

The approval allows the company to expand TITAN XL containers line, which offer injection and irrigation solutions in large volume, flexible bags.

B.Braun Medical pharmaceutical marketing vice-president Rick Williamson said the company is committed to grow the clinical nutrition product portfolio.

"B.Braun has been a pioneer in developing fluid containers that are environmentally friendly and focused on patient safety," Williamson added.

Currently, TITAN XL container offerings include 2l and 3l Sterile Water for Irrigation and 0.9% Sodium Chloride for Irrigation and 3l Glycine for Irrigation.

B. Braun develops, manufactures, and markets medical products and services to the healthcare industry.
